In today’s post, I decided to share the uses of activated charcoal. Before I purchased it, I had heard so much about charcoal use and its benefits. So I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

As a Teeth Whitener /Toothpaste
I take tea a lot and it stains my teeth. However, since I bought my activated charcoal it has been my toothpaste. I started seeing changes in my teeth from the very first day I used it. To use activated charcoal as a toothpaste, wet your toothbrush with water and dip it in activated charcoal then brush your teeth normally. Brush twice daily for quicker results. It’s a gradual process so be patient and you will see results.

As a Face Mask
You can use it alone with water to form a paste or mix it with natural honey. I do both. It leaves the face looking/feeling smooth by unclogging pores and dries up acne. It’s a cheaper way to care for your face indeed.

For Treatment of Bloating
Activated charcoal helps to detoxify the body. When you feel bloated or you have gas issues, mix some with water and that’s it. It works like magic.

For Treatment of Cramps- Menstrual/Indigestion 
Mix a teaspoon of activated charcoal into a glass of water and drink it all up. It has no taste so don’t be worried and it works wonders. For people like me that suffer from cramps( pms, ulcer and mp) it helps ease the pain and stimulates blood flow without taking pain killers. Amazing right? I know.

For Treatment of Allergies & Minor Wounds
Activated charcoal can also be used to treat minor wounds and to clear skin irritations or allergic reactions. If you react to things you don’t know or new ear ring like I do most times, mix some activated charcoal and water to form a paste and apply on the affected area.

I have also read that there are other uses of activated charcoal such as;

-To Lighten the underarms: I started this and I hope it’s true. Your girl wants lighter underarms😂.
-As a coloring agent: Activated Charcoal can be used instead of artificial coloring in yoghurts, icecream, cake etc
-It helps lactose intolerant people tolerate diary products.

Activated Charcoal leaves every where black in its wake but don’t fret, it doesn’t stain and comes off easily. It’s amazing what we have assessible to us on earth instead of all the chemicals we turn to.
