Workchic: Wrap Blazer Dress

The wrap dress trend has been taking over for sometime now and in July, I copped this beautiful pink and black blazer wrap dress with frill bottom at a closet sale. When I spotted it, I was watching the last season of How To Get Away With Murder at the time and I immediately imagined Michaela in it. So I’m channeling my inner Michaela lol. It’s far from my style but I also know it’s good to try something new and step out of our comfort zone often.

For some reason though, I never wore it since then because I felt like it was too much for just work (It’s like a birthday work dress or an important work thing work dress). Anyway, I wore it recently and thought to make a style post out of it since I hadn’t done a workchic look in a while.

Did you know that blazer dresses were a thing in the 80s??? The style of the 80s have been gradually creeping their way back and I think this look is one that will be around for a little while. A blazer dress is mostly office appropriate but can also be dressed up for an after work date or dressed with sneakers or flats for a casual look. There are different types of blazer dresses and I may just cop another with buttons very soon. Below are a few I like;

I had a vision for the kind of photos I wanted to use to present the dress and they came to live beautifully. All thanks to my sister who was kind enough to be my photographer for the day.
