We all have fears We all have worries We all have demons We all have baggage
Hello, how has life been treating you lately? I’m in London for a few days and I’m totally over the weather. If it was just the cold, I wouldn’t mind much but it’s been raining every day and the sun has been scarce.
I grew up an independent woman who always managed to get things done without asking for help. I may have been dying inside but I thought it was weak to let people know I needed their assistance. Back then, I kept trying to get things right even if that meant I had to try a million times.
Mental health is about how we feel, think and behave. Our mental health can affect our daily life, relationships, and even physical health. Each year, one in five adults experiences a mental illness, and one in two will experience one at some point in their lives.
Is there someone you feel like you can’t live without? Have you uttered statements like “I don’t think I can exist without you”, “I can’t live without you” “if you leave me, I wouldn't know how to exist” and meant it from the bottom of your heart?
Being someone else is boring, tasking, tiring and mind consuming. I have been there and done that and I know now it is no place I ever want to be again.
You are not broken
You are number one
and second to none
You are amazing
You are sunshine
You are enough
but I’m not really here
my body is here
but my mind is elsewhere
We've all felt hurt, betrayed, misjudged, cheated, insulted, taken for granted or abused at a point in our lives. It sucks when people we trust hurt us, believe me I know, I've been there and it has made me angry and sometimes very sad. Our reactions to being wronged are different.
Do you know who you are?, I mean who you really are? I started writing to discover myself and the initial title of my blog was The Journey of Self-Discovery by Mariam Shittu. I later found out that I wanted to share more than lifestyle which is why I changed it to Mariam's World and a lot of things have happened since then.
