I’m a firm believer that every person you date takes a piece of you with them when they leave. You spend a considerable amount of time with someone you’re dating and because of this, they know almost everything about you.
With everything going on around the world, it’s more important than ever to take care of our mental health. We often forget to pay attention to our mental health and I’m among the “we” I’m referring to.
Have you ever felt like a fraud, like you were living a lie, like you weren’t worthy of your position, salary or degree? Like you shouldn’t be the one receiving all the accolades because you don’t deserve it? Well, my friend you may have imposter syndrome.
Since I came out of the compulsory fourteen days quarantine period for recent travellers, I’ve been going for walks around my neighbourhood instead of driving all the way to the Lekki/Ikoyi bridge. I still get my 5km in but I’ve been unable to take a walk alone in peace.
You are not alone. I feel it too. The fear. The panic. The uncertainty. The inability to take your mind off the news update every day. The worry you no longer have control over. The wonder about when we will have normalcy again.
I think it’s okay to be a bit weird or a bit quirky. It’s what makes you you so you should own it and not try to hide it. We all have things we do that are a bit far from ordinary that make us unique.
Coronavirus disease (covid-19) has put life as we know it on hold all around the world. I happened to be away at some point during this pandemic and I’m sharing my travel experience with you all. If you haven’t read the first part, you would have to read it first because this post is a continuation of the previous one.
I was excited about getting time off work and spending quality time with my little sister and my friends. However, as the commencement of my trip got closer, I became worried. We only had one case of covid-19 in Nigeria but the cases around the world kept increasing every day.
In bed but I can’t sleep. I check the time and it’s 2:00am. My legs ache like I ran all day and I’m feeling hot from the inside. The heat is so much it’s starting to transcend outside my body even though the air conditioning is on and I’m right underneath it.
