POEM| Dear Men, Cry If You Want To

Dear men, cry if you want to "big boys don't cry" is a lie coined to confuse you
What I do matters What I say matters What I want matters What I have matters
Last night, I had a dream about my wedding day It was beautiful, surreal, and my very first time
I long for the days I got excited by letters from you
You're the air in my lungs You're my rain in drought You're my water in the desert You're the stillness in my heart
Save your thoughts for someone who thinks about you Save your worrying for someone who worries about you
It's been a long year consumed by many uncertainties I've been sad I've been scared
I want to feel safe and not live in fear I want to feel secure and no longer see an innocent life taken by a member of the force
What they have is stronger than love the care is eminent the ease is charming the growth is alluring
I thought I knew you but your words became insulting your behaviour became confusing your demeanor became controlling
