We want so many things.
Every day we wake up, there’s an addition to the list of the things we want and desire. Our wants always surpass our needs and we can’t help it because that’s just the way we are wired.
We want so many things.
Since I came out of the compulsory fourteen days quarantine period for recent travellers, I’ve been going for walks around my neighbourhood instead of driving all the way to the Lekki/Ikoyi bridge. I still get my 5km in but I’ve been unable to take a walk alone in peace.
We’re in the middle of a global pandemic
people are dying every day
and hope seems so far away
I bet you’ve heard the saying
no one knows tomorrow
several times and thought
well, the richest man in the world knows tomorrow
We all have fears
We all have worries
We all have demons
We all have baggage

Sometimes, everything hits you all at once. You lose your job, your relationship, a friend, a business opportunity, someone you really love. Or everything seems to be going according to plan; you finally landed that job, you got your dream car, you just got married but you aren’t happy and you can’t understand why.
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should
Just because it feels right doesn’t mean it’s right
Just because you can fight doesn’t mean you have to

by the ones we’ve loved
and the ones we’ve lost
by the experiences we’ve enjoyed
She wears her pain
as a smile on her face
because she knows
it calms her aching heart

I know you’ve heard the saying “less is more”, a phrase adopted in 1947 by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe several times but do you agree with it?
how happy life gets
the storm will come
to take it all away
because happy endings
are not really the end
Life is a fragile journey and its end is uncertain. There’s a chance you may not make it every single day;
You leave the house and may never get back in.
You get in a car and you may never come out of it alive.
Have you been trying to write but the words just won’t come out? You’ve been staring at your PC but it’s been a blank page for two hours and you just can’t come up with the words. Don’t worry too much, every writer gets stuck once in a while.
