Set is a garden-style restaurant located in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. I stopped by earlier in December for dinner with my friend, Jummy—who’s visiting from abroad—and here’s how our evening went.
Set is actually situated where Orile is. I didn’t know this before my visit; I only saw photos online and assumed it was a standalone space. However, upon arrival, I realized Set occupies the outdoor section right beside/behind Orile, functioning as its garden extension.
AMBIENCE
Set has a cozy, garden-inspired aesthetic. It’s brightly lit but cool enough to enjoy the surroundings. There’s a mix of greenery, earthy brown tones, high and low seating, and a soft, casual elegance. It feels simple but intentional—warm, intimate, and visually pleasing. I estimate it can seat 20–30 people comfortably.

MENU
The food menu features eight categories, each with at least two options. It leans more toward finger foods and light meals, so the selection is somewhat limited. However, I loved the clear labeling for gluten, dairy, and spice levels (even though gluten-free and dairy-free should have been separated).
The drink menu is extensive—classic and signature cocktails, mocktails, soft drinks, and a variety of hot and cold café beverages. They also offer shisha if you’re into that. The menu is also available online by scanning a QR code. Prices are attached online so you know how much you’re going to be charged.

WHAT WE ORDERED
For drinks:
- Pornstar Martini (me)
- Passion Fruit Iced Tea (Jummy)
For food:
- Mongolian Turkey Wings + Roast Potato Wedges (me)
- Ram Suya Skewers + Egg Fried Rice (Jummy)
Even though it wasn’t a busy night, our drinks arrived about 15 minutes after ordering, and our food came roughly another 15 minutes after that.

The wings were the star of the evening—well seasoned, perfectly sauced, tender, and easy to eat (they kindly cut them for me). The wedges were coated in what tasted like pepper oil before grilling; they were hot but delicious, so I powered through.
The ram suya skewers, however, were dry and quite disappointing, but the egg fried rice helped redeem the meal because it was genuinely good.
SERVICE DELIVERY & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Upon arrival, a hostess took our details for “reservation purposes,” even though I was told earlier on the phone that reservations weren’t required. She explained it was just their internal process, so fair enough.
Our waitress was polite, cheerful, and friendly—but at times a little too performative, and not always present. We had to call her back a few times to follow up and she didn’t check in after dropping the menus. To be fair, only two waiters were managing the entire outdoor space, so I suspect she was overwhelmed.
There were no fans running, but thankfully it wasn’t hot. Parking is limited but available both indoors and outdoors—likely manageable on weekdays, trickier on busy nights.
