Hello there, how you doing today?

  • Has fear ever been a problem for you, holding you back?
  • Have you been letting fear get the best of you?
  • Is there something you’ve been thinking of doing but has remained in your thoughts till this day?

Fear lives in our minds but we find it hard to get it out of our heads so it affects our daily lives. There are different kinds of fear and some are even dangerous. That heart racing ten times faster, inability to breathe kind of fear, yeah that.

Why Are We Afraid?
>Fear of failure
>Fear of the unknown
>Fear of ridicule

We are scared of everything and anything. From addressing a group of people to being a team leader, from an exam to a presentation, from interviews to the first day at a new job, from telling someone we like them to getting married, from pregnancy to childbirth and so on. Most times, we realize that what we were afraid of wasn’t even worth it. Fear, fear, fear of anything and everything we can come up with just to prevent us from taking that step forward.

There is a solution

>Fear Regret More Than Failure
>Do It Afraid

START TODAY

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing – Walt Disney

Successful individuals in different works of lives didn’t have everything together when they started. They just started and ran with it. Just like Akin Alabi said in his book “Small Business, Big Money“, “you need to start today, no matter what. If you don’t start today, when tomorrow comes, you will regret not starting yesterday.” You will be amazed how a little goes a long way. Come up with a plan, do some research, inform prospective sponsors about your idea, create a company logo, share your idea with your family and friends. Do something, anything that will take you one step closer to achieving your dreams.

FEAR REGRET MORE THAN FAILURE

More often than not, the reason most people are unwillingly to try is because they are scared of failure. If you remain scared of failure, you will be limited in your possibilities. You will remain in your comfort zone and have no idea of your potentials and how much you can accomplish. Take for example, my writing; I felt I had no talent for the longest time. I didn’t know I could create my own talent by just trying. I started writing and I have evolved over the year from someone who didn’t even know she liked to write to someone who is happiest when writing. I also ventured into another business of customized tees last year by just asking through a caption on my instagram page if anyone would be willing to wear what I was wearing. Remember, fear is temporary but regret is permanent. Remember, if you don’t try, you will never know how it will turn out. It’s better you attempt something than spend years wondering how it will have gone and later regretting you didn’t do it.

Never a failure, always a lesson

DO IT AFRAID

It’s okay to be afraid, it’s okay to be scared but it’s not okay to be afraid and not try. The only way to handle fear is to step into it. Take charge and don’t let it control you. When we grab hold of fear suddenly, we feel excited and ready to take the challenge head on. Being courageous doesn’t mean we are not afraid, it simply means we are facing come what may.

“Having courage does not mean that we are unafraid. Having courage and showing courage means we face our fears.” – Maya Angelou
