BOOKS| 15 Notable Quotes from You Are a Badass

As busy as our lives may be, it’s always beneficial to incorporate reading into our daily schedule. I hope you try to read often, and if you don’t, start reading today. There’s a wealth of knowledge and information waiting for you and you’re in control of how to choose to receive it and use it.

In recent times, I’ve read three books that have a similar narrative; The Secret, The Secret (The Power), and You are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne was recommended to me by a friend. As soon as I started reading it, I fell in love with its simplicity. I was astounded by how easy life can truly be if we didn’t overthink everything and anything. So of course when I was done reading it, I read its sequel too; The Secret (The Power).

A month later, You are a Badass came on my radar through one of my Instagram friends. I was attracted to the book because of the title (I believe I’m a badass) but after a few pages in, I was happy I chose to read it. I’ve come to the conclusion that the universe was trying to pass a message to me through these books and I’ve received this message. I’m following the law of attraction, focusing on the present, choosing peace, and bringing everything I want into my life because I can.

I absolutely loved Jen’s writing style. There’s a lot of humour in it and a lot of realness too. This book covers different aspects of life; from self-love to making money, dreaming big, being in tune with your source energy, positivity, moving on, overcoming fear, and achieving greatness.

One major reason why I love this book so much is because we were given assignments to write things down in our journal to help us change our thought process. She also shared a whole lot of affirmations too and y’all know how much I love affirmations. I couldn’t help but notice the many quotes she kept dropping on us so I decided to compile a few of them for you today to get your new month right on track.

Being in gratitude for the not-yet manifested informs The Universe that you know that what you desire already exists, and puts you at the right frequency to receive it.

What you choose to focus on becomes your reality. Life is an illusion created by your perception, and it can be changed the moment you choose to change it.

We’re all busy, but it’s the people who make enjoying their lives a priority who, um, enjoy their lives.

Do what you can do in joy, instead of trying to do it all in misery.

To shy away from who you really are would leave the world you-less.

Be your best, do your best, demand the best, expect the best, receive the best, and put your best out into the world so everyone can receive your best, too.

We’re all perfect in our own, magnificent, fucked up ways. Laugh at yourself. Love yourself and others.

You are responsible for what you say and do. You are not responsible for whether or not people freak out about it.

Face your fears with the truth, that they are all in your mind, and they will lose their power over you.

Do not spend your life clinging to the insulting decisions you’ve made about yourself. Instead, make the conscious choice to replace them with new and improved ones.

You aren’t a selfish person for taking care of yourself, just a happier one. Take care of yourself as if you’re the most awesome person you’ve ever met.

If something negative happens in your life, feel it, learn from it, let it go and get back to focusing on the life you’re excited to live.

When you forgive, you’re letting yourself off the hook not the person that wronged you.

There will never be anyone exactly like you. You were given special gifts and talents to share with the world, and even though everybody has special gifts and talents, nobody will use theirs quite the same way you do. You have a way of being in the world and a perspective that’s unique to you. You are the only one who thinks your thoughts the way you think them. You have created your own unique reality and are living your life according to your own unique path. You are the only you that will ever be. You are kind of a big deal.

Love yourself like you’re the only you there is.

Up next on my reading list is You Are a Badass at Making Money by the same author (obviously).

Which quote resonates with you most? For me, it’s all of them.

Have a great September!

  2. Reading good books that are interesting is a literary joy *&* out of the many books I’ve read three are pricelessand they are.

    1. Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill.
    2. The Magic of Thinking Big, by Dr. David Schwartz.
    3. University of Success, by Og Mandino.

As a writer and poet, I have ceased reading books of authors
as writers when writing usually take on the characters of those in books
and ideas without realizing it, and I love my own writing to waste my time on others authors
who work is nowhere more profound then mines.

    1. Hello, I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to stop reading books because like you mentioned, reading good books is a literary joy and good books are priceless. Reading also helps writers learn, grow and even improve their vocabulary.
Reading books will not be “wasting time” because even the most successful authors and poets read and recommend other people’s books.
