Places in Lagos | Shiro Lagos

Shiro is a well-known pan-Asian restaurant located in Victoria Island, Lagos. It has been around for many years, and I’ve visited a few times—mostly for their delicious starters. Earlier this year, I discovered their Yumcha Menu, so I stopped by with my sister-in-law, Dee, and our family friend, Abi, on a weekday to experience it.

AMBIENCE

Shiro has managed to maintain its signature ambience over the years—the sculptures, the warm-toned interior, and of course, the iconic transparent wine fridge. A few renovations have been done, especially after some of their space was taken for the Coastal Road project, but the core design remains. The brown, beige, grey, and black furniture tones come together to give the space a cool, clean, and slightly dramatic look. It’s important to note that the space is more beautiful at night.

MENU

We visited specifically for the Yumcha Menu—an unlimited food experience priced at ₦38,500 per person, with all listed items included. You can check out the full menu and terms & conditions in the photo of the menu below.

WHAT WE ATE

As a gluten-intolerant girlie, I was a bit nervous about the decision, worried I’d have very few options. Surprisingly, the only items I couldn’t have were the Cantonese Spring Rolls and Chicken Gua Bao. I asked for the Hibiscus Flower Tea and a bottle of water for the table, while Abi went for the bottomless sangria for an additional fee—love that for her!

We started with our soups. I chose the sweet corn soup. Then the real feast began: dim sums, spring rolls, sushi, steamed chicken and mushrooms, bao buns, more dim sums, and even more sushi… until we had to gently ask them to stop.

By the time we were done, I was so full that working afterward was impossible. I took a nap immediately I got home. Zero regrets. Lol.

SERVICE DELIVERY & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

On arrival, we were ushered to our seats promptly. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining the Yumcha Menu, even pointing out customer favourites. The wait time for food was decent, and everything came out fresh. Before we left, a waitress offered to take pictures of us. She was patient, kind, and surprisingly skilled. Shiro is located within Landmark Centre, so parking is not an issue.

DAMAGE (What It Cost Us)

• Water — ₦2,500
• Sangria — ₦8,500

Total Damage: ₦126,502 (VAT was already included in the Yumcha cost.)
Note: We visited months ago, so prices may have changed.
