Until Love Arrives

Until Love Arrives

We weren’t created to be alone

We are meant to have a partner
to keep us company
to build a life with
to create more life with
Yet the quest for love
makes this simple truth
feel impossible
for some

The thirst for passion
so hot it consumes
and the longing for care
so smooth and soft
like a baby’s skin
are desires
meant to bring us company
but can leave us wandering
in unending loneliness

Still, we wait,
holding onto hope
like a quiet assurance
that this love will arrive
in this lifetime or the next
and finally meet us
where we’ve been standing
waiting for its full embrace
all along.

About Me

I’m Mariam — writer, explorer, observer of life’s quiet and loud moments. I started this blog in March 2017 as a self-discovery space, and over the past eight years, it has grown into a home for everything that moves me and hopefully, something that moves you too. Here, you will find poetry, reflections, travel stories, lifestyle pieces, motivation, inspiration and Lagos restaurant reviews all written with honesty and heart. Enjoy!
