When I read a book that its story stays with me afterward, I always want to write about it and encourage people to read it too. Stay With Me is my favorite book written by a Nigerian and I'm telling you why without sharing too much.
It’s almost International Women’s Day and in honor of all the beautiful women in the world, I'm sharing my thoughts on The Color Purple. It was my fifth read for the year and I’m glad it was borrowed to me.
I read 31 books in 2018(not all books pictured), 7 books more than I did in 2017 but 4 books less than my target of 35 books. I love reading. It’s a form of escape. It’s a way to acquire vast knowledge and information. It’s also a way to grow and be a better version of yourself.
1.) By helping others you help yourself. 2.) Everything you can imagine is real. 3.) Be your own inspiration. 4.) Create things you wish existed. 5.) Take social media breaks.
I heard about Tomi Adeyemi through a video of her interview on Good Morning America that was sent to my high school WhatsApp group where she talked about the seven-figure book advance and movie deal she secured. I remember saying to myself that day, “I’m definitely gonna read this book". Fast forward to May, 2018 The Children of Blood and Bone was gifted to me.
Forget the messenger, this message is everything. This is not just any motivational book. It is the book. I have ready many self help books and this is totally different.
