You Will Not Get Everything You Want & That’s Okay

We want so many things.

Every day we wake up, there’s an addition to the list of the things we want and desire. Our wants always surpass our needs and we can’t help it because that’s just the way we are wired. We can wake up wanting a new job, a new car, a new house, or a new dress. It can even be something we see or hear about and it immediately sparks our interest and we long for it.

Some of our wants are easy to get while some aren’t. The ones that are within reach such as a new blouse, a new hairstyle, a new book, a holiday, etc; we buy because we can afford it. At times we can’t even afford these things immediately so we save and get them later because we planned for it.

However, there are some things we want that we will never get, and sometimes not getting what we want is what’s best for us. Instead of beating yourself up about what you didn’t get, you can learn to control your mind to move on from this desire to something else that’s within your reach.

Before you give up on getting what you want, here are a few things you need to do first;

  • You Need To Care
  • You Need To Try
  • You Need to Research
  • You Need to Give it Your Best

If you’ve worked really hard, put your heart and back into it, had sleepless nights because of it, and it still seems far from your reach, then it’s safe to move on. Moving on may be hard but as with everything in life, another want will find its way into our lives, we will forget the previous one we were thirsting over and start the race all over again.

Next time something you want seems impossible to have, consider the possibility of letting go.

    Hmmmm, it’s hard sometimes.

    1. Yes it is, but we have to try.

  3. I feel like this post was meant for me. I’ve been struggling with letting go but I’m gonna do my best to move on now. I’ve come to accept that it’s not everything I want that I will have and that’s fair. Thanks for always sharing your thoughts with us.

    1. Awwh, I’m glad to be of help.
