When I was younger, I thought being fashionable was directly proportionate to the number of clothes in your closet. However, as I grew older, I realised that style is not about the clothes you have but rather what you do with them. It took admiring the style of a classmate in my fourth year of uni to figure this out. Since then, shopping became a totally different vibe. I focused on buying a few things that I can pair in different ways than a whole lot of things that I wouldn’t consider how to style.

I purchased this blouse in March. It’s actually a bodysuit and I was attracted to how dull but bright it still is. I came up with three ways to style it recently and documented it for you.

The first look is a business-casual style. I paired the top with my ever-ready black high waisted pants, my old but still cute nude blazer, and my black and nude pumps. Sometimes, all you need is a jacket to spice up your outfit and give it that life it needs. That’s exactly what the blazer did to this combination.

My intention for the second look was work chic but after I got dressed, I realised it was more of a casual chic look. The skirt is one part of a two-piece I’ve had for some time. I flipped it the other way round, turned by sandals into slippers and voila, I created a look appropriate for a date or for spending time with the girls.

The third look is retro vibes. This is my favourite of the bunch because it features my new wide-legged jeans that has an old school appeal to it. I changed my neckpiece to a longer one and completed the look with my white sandals. It was by far the easiest and most comfortable combination, totally perfect for the weekend.
