5 Poems About The Musings of An Overthinker

Do you know an overthinker?

Some people think obsessively about everything. It’s the way they operate and deal with life. Overthinking is a common habit. However, If you’re in a relationship with an overthinking partner, it may be difficult to deal with. Talking from experience (as an overthinker myself), we can’t help but overanalyze everything that happened, hasn’t happened or could happen.

I thought it’ll be nice to share some poems from an overthinker’s perspective. The five poems below are the musings of an overthinker.

1. PRETENCE

Overthinking
will make you believe that
when you love someone more
it means
that they can hurt you more
than you can ever hurt them
So, Instead of giving all the love
you feel for them freely and easily
you try to mask it by pretending
you feel half of what you’re feeling

2. A TALE OF SCENARIOS

I’ve thought of
the worst-case scenario
and the best-case scenario
but somehow
my mind is convinced
the worst is what will happen

3. DON’T BLAME ME

Do you really want me
Do you really love me
Do you really want to marry me
Don’t blame me
I’m an overthinker

4. I’VE THOUGHT ABOUT IT A MILLION TIMES

Just incase
you’re wondering if I’ve thought about it
I have thought about it a million times
and I’m still thinking about it

5. IT WILL GET BAD EVENTUALLY

Overthinking
will make you believe that
no matter how good
things seem to be going
in your relationship,
It will get bad
and eventually, end

  3. This is exactly kinda what I go through. All five really. The pretense part really hit home. It’s draining ✋
