Are you flustered that the year is already halfway gone and you aren’t closer to achieving your goals? Are you scared that it’ll be NYE before you know it, and you’ll still be stuck in the past? Don’t worry, you aren’t alone. I’ve been thinking about this lately. How is it July already? I remember saying Happy New Year and reminding myself to write 2024 instead of 2023. It doesn’t feel like six months have passed, but they really have.
For the past few weeks, I haven’t felt like myself, and this has affected my writing, my mood, my energy, my health, and my overall outlook on life. I’ve concluded that the reason for all this is most likely mid-year blues. It’s that time of year when I look at my goals for the year and see how far I have come. I was stalling doing this and coming to terms with my reality, but I have finally done it.
Yes, I haven’t accomplished some major things, but I have accomplished some major things, too. I’ve chosen to celebrate my wins and created a stricter action plan for the remaining goals. If you’re concerned about not progressing as quickly as you’d like, try adopting my method. I break down my year’s goals into monthly goals and have a checklist to track what has been done. I don’t delete anything, and it helps me remember what I’ve done and to give myself a pat on the back.
I know it’s not easy, but it’s doable. You still have five months and three weeks to get things done. It’s a long time for you to;
- Crush your goals
- Expand your network or Build new relationships
- Save or invest
- Meet someone new and start a flourishing relationship
- Move on
- Get a new job
- Build
- Travel
- Read
- Journal
- Explore, etc.
So, get your ass off the bed and get to work. Don’t forget to document your achievements. I’m rooting for you!!!
