Echoes of Longing

Echoes of Longing

I didn’t want to pen another verse,
About how deeply I miss you
Yet I find myself immersed,
In thoughts of you that need a pen

I miss you with the morning light,
And in the quiet of the night.
I miss you when my heart is free,
And when I feel lost at sea.

I miss you when the weight is vast,
And when the moments fly so fast.
I miss you through the joy and pain,
In sunshine and in the rain.

I miss you when fear begins to creep,
And when I wake from a peaceful sleep.
I miss you as my thoughts align,
And when wrapped in tangled signs.

I didn’t want to pen another verse,
About how deeply I miss you
Yet I find myself immersed,
In heartfelt words that ring so true.

About Me

I’m Mariam — writer, explorer, observer of life’s quiet and loud moments. I started this blog in March 2017 as a self-discovery space, and over the past eight years, it has grown into a home for everything that moves me and hopefully, something that moves you too. Here, you will find poetry, reflections, travel stories, lifestyle pieces, motivation, inspiration and Lagos restaurant reviews all written with honesty and heart. Enjoy!
