Places in Lagos| Brisk

Brisk is a bar and restaurant in Ikoyi, Lagos. It began operations in July 2023 and has quickly gained popularity as a brunch and lunch destination. The restaurant is managed by the same team behind W Bar, who bring their experience to ensure it’s a great spot for visitors.

I stopped by Brisk for dinner with my friend Bolu in January 2024, and we had a good time. I went back for lunch with my friends Olumide and Osoba in October 2024, and I created content for a review the second time around.

AMBIENCE

The space is bright and beautiful, featuring aesthetically pleasing wall art and a vibrant yet simple mix of furniture. Both indoor and outdoor seating options are available. The restaurant primarily features low seating, with some high seats located at the back.

MENU

The food menu is categorized into 13 sections, with at least one option per section. It includes a mix of popular and unique meal choices to pique your interest. The drink menu comprises a selection of regular café-style hot and cold beverages, cocktails, smoothies, and shakes.

WHAT WE ORDERED

I asked for an Aperol Spritz, Olumide opted for Hot chocolate, and Osoba chose a Cappuccino. We also asked for a bottle of water for the table. For food, I chose a meal from the healthy haven category: a Grilled Roman Chicken Sandwich. Olumide chose Wholesome Pancakes with Crispy Chicken, while Osoba chose the Steamy Turkey Coconut meal but switched the coconut rice to jollof rice.

Our drinks were served shortly after we ordered them, and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food to arrive.

Grilled Roman Chicken Sandwich
Wholesome Pancakes with Crispy Chicken and plantain
Steamy Turkey Coconut with mushrooms, potatoes and jollf rice

When I saw my meal, I said, “This definitely looks healthy”…lol. I accepted my fate while I starred at Olumide and Osoba’s meals. It could have definitely been a cheat day, but it was too late. It was time to dig in, so we did. The sandwich was simple and not very flavorful, but it was satisfactory. The salad complemented the sandwich well, and I finished everything on my plate.

Olumide mentioned that his chicken wasn’t as tasty as he had hoped despite looking appealing. However, he found the pancakes delicious and thought the addition of plantain was an interesting touch. On the other hand, Osoba enjoyed the turkey and potatoes but regretted switching from fried rice to jollof rice, believing that fried rice might have been a better choice. He also noted that the food looked better than it tasted, which left him feeling a bit disappointed. I was offered a forkful of turkey with sauce as proof and agreed with his assessment.

Before we got the bill, we ordered shots for the road.

SERVICE DELIVERY & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

The restaurant was quite busy when we walked in, as it was lunchtime. We were seated quickly, and a waiter introduced himself and provided us with the menus. He was charming, helpful, and always available when we needed assistance. The restaurant is located in a mall complex, which offers ample parking..
