I know the world is full of people sadder than me,
but sometimes I can’t help but wonder
if it’s all in my head
When a glimmer of hope or happiness comes my way,
something always seems to get in the way
like I’m not allowed to be happy
Even though it shakes me
and puts me in a state of wonder
I know, deep down,
that happiness and most importantly, joy
are meant for me
