Short Poems on Quarantine Blues

Short Poems on Quarantine Blues

This post contains a compilation of five short poems.

1. I MISS YOU

I wish we were quarantined together
because I’ve missed you more
in these past few days
than I’ve ever missed you
since you’ve been gone

2. I LONG FOR THE PEACE YOU GIVE ME

I just want to hold you close
wrap my legs around yours
feel your heart beating
and know that you’re here with me
I long for the peace you give me

3. STRUGGLING

I think I’m suffocating
even though I feel air
going through my lungs

I think I’m frustrated
even though I’m reassuring everyone
we’re going to be alright

I think I’m losing my mind
even though I feel certain
that I’m going to be fine

4. YOU’VE GOT THIS

One step after another
One day after another
One week after another
You’ve got this

5. THE TRUTH

Since everything may go to shit
I might as well tell you how I feel
I thrive on the attention you give
but I don’t love you
and I don’t think I ever will

As usual, which one is your fave?

About Me

I’m Mariam — writer, explorer, observer of life’s quiet and loud moments. I started this blog in March 2017 as a self-discovery space, and over the past eight years, it has grown into a home for everything that moves me and hopefully, something that moves you too. Here, you will find poetry, reflections, travel stories, lifestyle pieces, motivation, inspiration and Lagos restaurant reviews all written with honesty and heart. Enjoy!
