Level Restaurant and Lounge is located in Ikoyi, Lagos, and began operations in December 2023. Earlier this month, I was looking for a lunch spot in Ikoyi to visit with my uncle, and Level came up as a suggestion. I’d never been and had never known it existed, so I chose it. Hehehe.
I stopped by Level on a weekday for lunch, and here’s how it went.
AMBIENCE
From the outside (before you drive in), you wouldn’t guess what’s happening inside. The entrance leads into a full complex — not just a restaurant, but a shopping area with a football pitch and a swimming pool. The restaurant itself has a cool, low-key vibe. Still, from the look and feel of the lounge upstairs, I could tell the place likely transforms into something livelier at night.

MENU
The food menu features eight categories, each with at least two options to choose from. The drink menu is quite extensive, offering cocktails, mocktails, spirits and hard liquor, soft drinks, plus a variety of hot and cold café beverages.

WHAT WE ORDERED
For drinks, I ordered a café latte and water, while my uncle ordered water. For food, we both ended up choosing salads — I went for the Avocado & Shrimp Salad, and he chose the Salmon Salad.
My drink took a while to arrive, and we waited about thirty minutes for the salads. We kept wondering why, because… they were salads. When our meals finally came, we dug in — still slightly confused because my salad had only four ingredients and his had three. Lol.
The lettuce tasted like it had been dipped lightly in olive oil — a nice, unexpected twist. Thankfully, we didn’t mind it. The portions of shrimp and salmon were generous, and overall, the salads were decent.

SERVICE DELIVERY & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
When I arrived, a waitress took me on a brief tour of the place. She was polite, friendly, and helpful, and showed me to my preferred seat. However, during our stay, she seemed preoccupied and occasionally absent, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all.
It also appeared that a renovation was happening — the restaurant doors were open at the back so workers could carry out furniture, which allowed many flies to enter. Another waiter tried his best to swat them away, but it was still uncomfortable. I later found out my uncle was more bothered than he let on, and he suggested (after tipping the waitress) that they consider the hanging-type fly repellent instead of the paddle-style one.
Parking will be limited when the restaurant is busy, but sufficient during non-peak hours.
