Welcome to 2019

Today is the 4th day in 2019 and just like last year, this year is already in a race. Have you made your New Year resolutions yet??? I’m not a believer in New Year resolutions but I know it’s good to make a list because it makes you have a guide to work with, it drives you to accomplish things and it also makes you have something to look forward to.

Nine years ago, 2019 seemed so far away and now I can easily say 2020 is next year. Time waits for no one and if you truly want to make this year better than the last, you need to start now. Start small, start now. There are no guarantees in life but if you fail to try, you may miss out on all the good stuff.

Though 2018 is over, its memories will linger forever; its lessons, its gains and its losses. Last year was a learning experience for me from January all through to December. I grew up in so many ways and I learnt how to embrace growth. I made new friends and lost some, I wrote a lot of poetry and dabbled into spoken word poetry, I travelled to two countries I had never been to, the views on my blog tripled, I got genuine appreciative feedback from my readers all over the world, I also participated in a poetry competition and I’m awaiting feedback.

I may not know a lot but I definitely know I’d like to do more this year; write more this year, speak more this year, travel more this year, share more this year, help more this year, read more this year, exercise more this year, pay more attention to what I put in my body this year, rest more this year and meet up with my friends more this year. In essence, I want to LIVE more this year.
