What if I had no heart…

I probably wouldn’t be alive
I wouldn’t know love
I wouldn’t know pain

I wouldn’t care
I wouldn’t have thoughts
I wouldn’t have feelings

I wouldn’t look for you
I wouldn’t wait for you
I wouldn’t pray for you

I wouldn’t need you
I wouldn’t like you
I wouldn’t love you

But I have a heart…

It’s beating right now
yearning to receive
all the love it has ever given
