A loud bang and glass shattered all around me. “Not again” was the first thought that came to my head. I was in shock but only for a millisecond this time. I grabbed my bag from the floor, held on tight to my phone, turned my back towards them and told my brother to drive.

There was nowhere to go but all he did was see the look in my eyes and he drove. In that moment, I didn’t care if we ran into the trailer ahead of us. I just knew they were not going to have their way this time.

We got away. Thank goodness we got away but then I started to feel glass on my skin. I saw blood on my arms. I felt glass in my undergarments but we couldn’t park. I couldn’t sit comfortably, I couldn’t even move. It wasn’t until we got home I came out of the car.

I have pink tiny dots all over my arms but we’re okay. The car has a broken window and a fixable dent on the side but we’re okay. I think my brother is proud of me. He told me I am strong and I have liver.

Now I believe that saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. I guess the pain I have been through has given me courage to face anything with little to no fear now. I don’t know what got into me but I’m glad we got away unscathed.
