POEM: The Waiting Game

We’ve been talking
talking and talking
sometimes, we’re best friends
other times, we’re strangers
I’d like to believe I know you

but I still don’t know a lot about you

We’ve been talking
talking and talking
I know what makes you mad
and I know how to make you laugh
I know your personal struggles
and I guide you through the rumbles

We’ve been talking
talking and talking
I’m glad I have someone
who is always in my corner
but I can’t help but wonder
are we friends or something more?

We’ve been talking
talking and talking
I know it should be addressed
but I’m scared and detest
the aftermath of my curiosity
so I will wait, maybe till eternity

Have you ever played the waiting game?

  1. I can relate to this so much! I have a guy friend and we’re pretty close. We used to talk every day for months but now we’ve sorted fallen off and it just has me a little worried! I like him too but that crush is starting to fade and I think I might have to give up. But I’m glad that someone feels similar to me.
