POEM| No One Knows Tomorrow

POEM| No One Knows Tomorrow

I bet you’ve heard the saying
no one knows tomorrow
several times and thought
well, the richest man in the world knows tomorrow
he knows he will still be rich

and he can make decisions on a whim
he can cancel all his meetings for tomorrow
and go on a trip instead tomorrow
but he can’t do that anymore tomorrow
because no one knows tomorrow for real
not the teacher nor the student
not the elite nor the globetrotter
not the Chief Imam nor the Pope
not the President nor the Army General
not the most brilliant doctor nor the smartest scientist
not the seer nor the richest man in the world
we are all in limbo now, waiting for tomorrow
to bring the good news we’ve all been waiting for

About Me

I’m Mariam — writer, explorer, observer of life’s quiet and loud moments. I started this blog in March 2017 as a self-discovery space, and over the past eight years, it has grown into a home for everything that moves me and hopefully, something that moves you too. Here, you will find poetry, reflections, travel stories, lifestyle pieces, motivation, inspiration and Lagos restaurant reviews all written with honesty and heart. Enjoy!
