Places in Lagos| SEE Lagos

SEE Lagos is a new restaurant located in Lekki Phase 1 which began operations in May 2022.

There are many new restaurants in Lagos, and I’m a bit behind on my visits, but I managed to stop by one of the new kids on the block this month with my friend, S.

AMBIENCE

It’s hard not to notice SEE on the street as you drive by because of its colour and the name written boldly on the building. As we walked in, I saw the greenery on the restaurant’s left side, which also doubles as an outdoor seating area. The main restaurant has brown and green tones with minimalist decor that makes the space come alive. Upstairs houses a business lounge, cocktail bar and private dining area. It’s dark and super cosy with complimentary blankets and many books that can be borrowed. We decided to sit upstairs, and a waiter came by to tend to us.

MENU

The food menu is categorized into eleven sections (breakfast, sandwiches/burgers, starters (soups), salads, mains, meats, hot plates, cold plates, pasta, sides and comfort food). Each category has between two to seven meals, so there’s plenty to choose from. The drink menu has a selection of cocktails, mocktails, smoothies, and regular bottled drinks and sodas. The items are fairly priced compared to other new restaurants in Lekki.

WHAT WE ORDERED

For drinks, our waiter recommended a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu to me; See De Blue, while S had water. We ordered chicken wings (which we also didn’t see on the menu) to start. For mains, I chose the Fusilli Pesto, while S chose Jerk Chicken with Braised Rice.

I really liked the cocktail. I asked for its contents but I don’t remember them any longer. It was perfect!!! The Chilli Pineapple & Bourbon Chicken Wings arrived next. I preferred the chilli wings, but both were tasty.

Some minutes later, our meals were served. The Fusilli Pesto had an indomie seasoning underlying taste, but I devoured it all. I initially thought the portion was tiny, but I was full when I was done. We both thought the braised rice would look different (white in appearance), but it had the colour of jollof rice cooked like fried rice. S liked his meal, both the chicken and rice. I had some and thought it was okay too.

SERVICE DELIVERY & CUSTOMER SERVICE

The staff were receptive and welcoming even before we entered the restaurant. Our waiter was helpful and familiar with the menu. Another waiter offered to show me around the restaurant and seemed eager to help. We didn’t have to wait long for our orders and felt comfortable throughout our entire stay. If we didn’t have a movie to catch, we would have easily stayed there longer.

DAMAGE

See De Blue ~ 7,000
Water ~ 750
Chilli Pineapple and Bourbon Wings ~ 5,500
Fusilli Pesto ~ 8,000
Jerk Chicken ~ 9,500
Our total damage was 34,593.75. There was an additional charge of 3,843.75 added to the bill for VAT and Tax.

SEE Lagos is a versatile place to dine. It’s perfect for a work meeting or lunch, breakfast/brunch/lunch with friends and family, a group business meeting, pre drinks and private parties.

P.S. This is not a sponsored post. All opinions I expressed are truly mine.
