Lately,
I’ve been trying
to train my mind
to be stronger than my feelings
but my attempts have been futile
My hard girl
no dey reach my mind
and I lie awake at night
going over events
I should have moved on from
a long time ago
My feelings always win
no matter how hard I try
but I won’t stop trying

It was fun writing a line in pidgin (an alternative language we communicate with in Nigeria). I hope to do more of this.
