Just because something
may not last forever
doesn’t mean
it’s not worth exploring.
We may not have tomorrow,
but we have today.
And today
is worth living,
worth enjoying,
worth embracing,
worth experiencing
for what it is.
I didn’t grow up adventurous,
but I’ve always been curious.
Curious about people.
Curious about places.
Curious about things
I never knew existed.
I love to learn.
I love to explore.
I love to discover
what I didn’t know
five minutes ago.
I love the feeling
of finding something new,
of realizing
there is still so much
I haven’t seen,
haven’t tried,
haven’t explored,
haven’t lived.
And that curiosity
led me to you.
I often wish
I could take a peek
into the future,
just for a moment,
to see what comes next
and keep living in the present
while knowing
where it will lead.
But I can’t.
I don’t know
what tomorrow holds.
I don’t know
how long something will last.
I don’t know
what comes after this.
So I will
Explore
while I am curious.
Give
while I am able to give.
Love
while I have love to give.
Live
while I am alive.
Because I’d rather
regret doing it
than
regret not doing it.

I heard something similar to the first verse of this poem in a movie I watched over the weekend. I’m enjoying writing freely again like I did when I started this blog. It’s been so fulfilling in ways I thought I had lost. If you have a prompt you’d like me to write about, share it with me in the comments. I’d love to work on it. It can be anything at all!
