But First, Tea

But First, Tea

For some reason I thought I had written about my love for tea and how much it means to me but I still hadn’t and I wondered why. So, I decided to. Everyone who knows me knows how much tea is a part of me.

I started taking tea when I was really little with a lot of milk and sugar. Now thinking about it that’s yucky cos I don’t like tea with milk anymore. I strongly believe the only way to truly enjoy and appreciate the benefits of any tea is to consume it without any add-ons. I can handle a little honey when I feel like it but most times I soak in the goodness of the tea alone.

The person that came up with this quote is a genius because this is absolutely true!

My strength, my medicine, my pillar of comfort. The one I turn to when I’m sick, when I’m sad, when I’m bored, when I’m having a long day, when I had a long day, when I’m bloated, on a cold or hot day. You must be wondering is she really referring to tea or something else. Yes, tea my calming friend.

I have a favorite tea brand Yogi tea. All yogi teas have an underlying unique taste to them and that’s why I love it so much. Yogi tea is also special because of the uplifting quotes on the tea bags. Imagine a tea that consoles you and lifts your spirits at the same time. Yeah, that’s what yogi tea does. If you follow me on twitter or snapchat, you must have seen a couple of photos of my yogi tea + quote. My all time favourite yogi tea is Stomach Ease it works like magic. Other favourites include; Women’s Energy, Choco Chilli and Chai Rooibos.

Other tea brands I like are Pukka and Twinnings. I also recently tried a new brand Diplomat and I already love their uplifting lemon and ginger tea.

I’m one of those people that when I have a friend or family member coming to town and they ask what they should get for me I say “can you help me get yogi and pukka tea from Holland & Barret”.

I love tea so much I make it from scratch as well. My go to self-made teas are;

Cinnamon & Honey Tea: A teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a teaspoon of honey. It’s a very yummy tea and it aids digestion.
Ginger & Lemon Tea: I use a handful of freshly cut ginger or a teaspoon of ground ginger and freshly squeezed lemon juice for this. You feel this tea all the way. I use this tea when I have a cold with an addition of fresh mint leaves and honey to give me an extra kick.

I’ve now told everyone about my tea addiction(yikes). I’d love to know what teas you like and what ones you suggest I try.

Thanks for reading.
