It’s a holiday here in Nigeria so today has been really chilled and everyone is at home. I went running yesterday evening and I’m so sore as I type.
This post is dedicated to my only ankle length black shimmering dress. It took a while for me to decide on a title to this post and this is the best I could come up with so don’t judge me.
Before I owned this beauty, I had always wanted a long black dress. The kind you see in the movies where the actress has an event to attend in the evening. The moment she walks in all eyes turn to her as she walks down the stairs. I dream too much😂😂😂
Anyway, I got this dress from @uniquepiece__ on valentine’s day. They stock the finest vintage pieces; dresses, tops, blouses, sunglasses. I had been admiring it standing tall in my closet until I decided to wear it to my friend’s wedding in Abeokuta. I wrote about my visit to Abeokuta and you can check it out here.
I paired the dress with silver because I couldn’t think of a more appropriate colour besides it. Silver accessories, silver diamante shoes and purse. I bought the shoes about four years ago during the first ever Jumia Black Friday sale. Then I bought the purse separately later on to match the shoes.
I had a dilemma with my hair which always happens when I have a long weave in. I wasn’t sure if I should let my hair down or pack it up but I decided to curl it and leave it flowing by my side.
The ensemble came together looking really pretty and I felt good knowing I owned the outfit. So I asked my sister to take a lot of photos of course. I guess I will get to the point oneday where I’ll be dressing up just to take photos for my blog.
