POEM|I Thought It Was You

I thought it was you
I became we
And I was done looking

I thought we’ll be forever
We supported each other
And talked about our dreams

I thought you were the one for me
We were perfect
And shared everything

I thought it was you
We had plans
And talked about our kids

I thought we stuck like glue
We knew each other
And made others jealous

I thought it was love
We were best friends
And completed each other

I thought it was you
We were a solid rock
And nothing could break us

I thought we were real
We cried together
And had fun together

I thought it was you
But you broke my heart
And we stopped existing
