maybe I took you for granted
maybe I didn’t understand you
maybe I didn’t care enough
maybe I didn’t put you first
maybe I didn’t know I hurt you in the process

maybe I took your love for granted
maybe I didn’t appreciate our friendship
maybe I didn’t think of us like you thought of us
maybe I didn’t do for you as much as you did for me
maybe I didn’t do all this because you were never mine to love
