POEM| Seven Hundred & Eight Days

POEM| Seven Hundred & Eight Days

It’s been seven hundred and eight days
since I last heard from you
I wonder if you’re okay every day
and I still see you in my dreams

Seven hundred and eight days
of not seeing your beautiful smile
and the way your face brightens up
When your eyes cross my path

I miss going out for coffee together
holding hands while we walk in the park
Sunday mornings when we curl up in bed
and the nights we read books until we fell asleep

Seven hundred and eight days
of not hearing your voice
coexisting with you
and feeling your body pressed against my skin

I don’t know what I’ll feel tomorrow
but I know I miss you today
That’s why I know it’s been seven hundred and eight days,
nine hours and twenty-five minutes
since I last heard from you

About Me

I’m Mariam — writer, explorer, observer of life’s quiet and loud moments. I started this blog in March 2017 as a self-discovery space, and over the past eight years, it has grown into a home for everything that moves me and hopefully, something that moves you too. Here, you will find poetry, reflections, travel stories, lifestyle pieces, motivation, inspiration and Lagos restaurant reviews all written with honesty and heart. Enjoy!
