Places in Lagos: Ziya Delicacy Boutique -

Today’s places in Lagos post features Ziya Delicacy Boutique. I had lunch with my friend, Akin at Ziya on a Saturday in June. Ziya Delicacy Boutique is a cafe located in Victoria Island Lagos, open from 8:00am to 9:00pm. They opened the door to customers at the end of April 2022.

AMBIENCE

As we walked in, we were ushered into a bright and vibrant space with green tones spread all around, which makes the space come alive. The cafe has three sitting areas; the bar, the open space with the sunroof, and the closed roof sitting to the back with high and low seats.

The drinks menu is categorized into four sections with a combination of hot and cold drinks and cocktails. The food menu is also categorized into four, with a selection of fast meals for everyone. The cafe also sells fresh from the counter food (bread, cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc.) and homemade and imported products.

WHAT WE ORDERED

We chose Cappuccino, two servings of fresh Pineapple juice, Soda water, Bloody Mary, Garibaldi and Aperol Spritz for drinks. They were ordered at different times. The Aperol Spritz and Garibaldi were nice cocktails. I don’t know what Akin was thinking when he ordered the Bloody Mary; he couldn’t drink it.

For food, I chose the Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich, and Akin chose the Breakfast Wrap. While we waited for our food, we were served complimentary potato crisps.

The sandwich was served with more crisps and some veg. My plate was full. Though it was delicious, the bread was tough, and it had an over-microwaved pizza taste. Nonetheless, I took my time to devour it. Akin said his wrap was okay. I didn’t taste it, but I know my food was definitely more interesting than his.

SERVICE DELIVERY & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

The vibe of the space set the entire tone of our stay. We loved Ziya before we even experienced it. The staff were welcoming, and our waiter was helpful and always available. The food wait time was decent, and the manager came by to check how our meals were, when we were done. I told him about the bread’s toughness, and he took the feedback well. Parking is limited, and the cafe is located on a busy road with many businesses, including restaurants.
