What we hope for so much
isn’t always what we get.

We
dream,
work,
wait,
pray,
believe,
and still
the answer looks different
from what we imagined.

We
strive,
explore,
rethink,
rework,
wait,
hope,
and try again.

Yet we still don’t get what we hoped for.

Maybe
it doesn’t mean
that we lost.

Maybe there is still
something beautiful
waiting for us
in the life
we didn’t plan
but that will find us.
