POEM| Lucky

I often
forget
how lucky we are
to be able to
wake up together
pray together
go about our days together
eat together
and
sleep together
even though
we’re three thousand miles apart

Mariam Shittu

I wrote this poem some months ago for Coucou magazine’s second issue. The theme of the issue is intimacy in the digital age and I enjoyed writing this. You can read the whole issue here.
