Danfo Bistro & Dives is one of the new most talked about restaurants in Lagos and I got to experience the space in January with my family. It is situated on Alexander road right in the heart of Ikoyi which is not far from the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge. As you walk in, the decor of the restaurant is really true to the Lagos vibes it represents and you forget you are in a container. It is really bright with the Danfo colour; yellow dominating the entire space.
Danfo Bistro has a cozy feel, a nice ambience and two sitting areas; indoor and rooftop outdoor. If you’re an art lover, you will absolutely love the decor. There’s a lot of art everywhere inclusive of the restroom. As with all new places, it was really busy but we didn’t have to wait for long before we were attended to. The menu had an array of interesting options and I really wanted to try the famous ewa agoyin meal that trended on social media because of its price.
Here’s what we ordered:
- Danfo wings
- Ewa Agoyin Sandwich
- Naija Spaghetti Bolognaise
- Sloppy Friday Burger
We ordered only one starter; Danfo wings which we shared. For our main meals, I ordered the Ewa agoyin sandwich, my brother ordered the Sloppy Friday Burger while my sisters ordered Naija Spaghetti Bolognaise.

All the meals were served with customized newspaper that made you feel like you were really eating street food. The beans in the sandwich was just as tasty as that of the street vendors. I’m ashamed to say this but I ate my sandwich with fork and knife. I tried to eat it with my hands but my plantain kept falling and I couldn’t have that. Prior to this, I had never eaten bread with a combination of both beans and plantain but now that I’ve done it, I realize it’s not a bad combination.

My siblings only had good things to say about their meals too and I made sure to taste everyone’s food (I promise I’m not a foodie, okay maybe I am). The only complain or rather observation my sister pointed out is that the Spaghetti Bolognaise meal would have been nicer if it had beef or chicken to accompany the meal besides the minced meat in it.
Will we go back? Absolutely!!!
I contributed a review on Google about Danfo Bistro and you can read it here. Catch up on my other Google reviews while at it.
