I was such a baby when I was in uni and I really thought I was an adult. I had fun writing this while going through old photos on Facebook. Here are 10 things I wish I knew before I was 20.
.) It’s okay to forgive. Don’t be afraid to forgive people who wrong you. Don’t be so hard and difficult. People can be given second chances.
.) You can approach people you want in your life. Don’t wait to be spoken to or found interesting. You can initiate conversations with people you want to be friends with.
.) Don’t pay too much attention to what people think of you. It’s okay to be yourself. They are not even really thinking of you the way they think they are. You are not on their mind all day every day.
.) It’s okay to be different. You don’t have to like the things your friends or siblings like. You can dislike them and like the things they don’t like. Don’t be compelled to conform.
.) Speak up. When you’re not okay; when you don’t feel good; when you don’t feel safe; when you’re no longer interested.
.) Don’t say you don’t like something without even trying it out first. Food may not look great but taste heavenly; try it out first before condemning it.
.) Say No. Don’t say yes except you mean it.
.) Have fun. Ten years from now, you’re going to look back and wish you did more fun things. Go out.
.) Accept love. Focus on the present and accept the care, attention, availability and affection that is being showered on you. Let people love you.
.) Before you get a tattoo, be sure of what you want. Spend some time loving the way it looks on paper before you have it permanently inked on your body.
Which number can you relate to?
