So far, 2020 has been the year of difficult changes for everyone because of the coronavirus pandemic. There are a lot of things we thought we couldn’t live without that we’ve been able to live without. One thing on my list is visiting the cinema. Prior to the pandemic, I went to the cinema at least twice a month. I haven’t been to the cinema in five months and I’m good. Who would have thought that???
There aren’t a lot of things I can’t live without but I can’t imagine my life without these five things below;
1. MY MOBILE PHONE
I’m not ashamed to type this. Okay, maybe I am but just a little bit. I don’t know what I will do without the contents of my phone, not the actual phone duh. My phone does so much for me. It’s my alarm, my notepad, my calendar, my organizer, my diary, my teacher thanks Google, my DJ, and so much more. Life without my iPhone will be very very bland.
2. WATER
I don’t think a day has gone by since I can remember that I haven’t drunk water. Besides the fact that water is a necessity of life, I love water. I’m not a fan of fizzy drinks or flavoured water. Plain, room temperature water is okay for me. I drink a lot of water during the day, in the morning and at night before I go to bed. That’s why I always have to pee in the middle of my sleep LOL.
3. MUSIC
Growing up, I was always glued to the radio. I remember listening to Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 on Saturday and Sunday mornings on Cool FM and staying up till late to listen to the request show on Rhythm 93.7FM. I made friends solely because of music exchange–– I know it sounds strange but back then there was no Apple Music or Spotify. I love listening to music for the stories, the thrill, the inspiration, the release, and the company it gives. Music is life!

4. MY FAMILY
I love my family so much and even though we don’t all live in the same country, they are all present in my life. My siblings and I were raised to be friends first before siblings and because of this, my sisters are my best friends and my brothers are my buddies. We cry together, laugh together, play together, make money together, grow together and help each other always. I can’t imagine life without my family.
5. WRITING
To think that I only started writing in 2017 and it made this list. I will choose writing over food if I had to. I believe I will write in the sand if I have to. I write because it’s therapeutic and the truest way I can express myself. Writing transports me to another realm where I am confident, sassy and free. I can fly like a kite, conquer every fright, show my might and always shine bright. I write because I believe my words can help people heal, feel, love and motivated to be the best version of themselves. I can’t imagine my life now or in the future without writing in it.

Really? I am surprised about the music part o. I know about the rest. So what is your favourite genre of music?

Music is a big part of me but it’s not an obvious part because I enjoy listening to music in my space––when I’m in my zone. I listen to all kinds of music but I love soft rock and pop most.

I can’t live without food. Food is at the top of my list. Then I guess my family too, God, Ribena, and my best friend.
